All research activities in Nigeria are being coordinated through the Novena University, while similar activities in Australia including collaboration with ‘The Wellness Centre at Orange NSW’ will follow the Charles Sturt University HREC approval.

Registration and support details

  2. Support base 1: We still enjoy the support of Novena University. With financial funding yet to be available to recruit a Clinical Research Assistant (CRA), it is very important to appreciate Chief Chuks Ochonogor (Pro Chancellor, Novena University) for enabling a collaborative support base – including appointment of Uba as a Visiting Professor. Some of the final year students of the Public & Community Health department continue to be provided to do their ‘Hons’ research work under the aegis of GMRDO.

  3. Support base 2: With great thanks to Mr Austin Avuru (CEO, Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc), we now have memorandum of understanding to use the Catholic Hospital Abbi as our operational facility/site in Ndokwa. In the last screening exercise that occurred 15th December 2015 till 29th January 2016, staff of the hospital were fully involved (picture attached)

  4. Support base 3: We also still enjoy the support of Onyx hospital & Maternity Lagos; as the metropolitan-site. Dr Onyia as MD of the hospital has benevolently opened the hospital doors for any Ndokwa student at undergraduate or postgraduate level; and he is happy to speak with any Ndokwa indigene

    1. Whose final year (Hons) or postgraduate research work is on or related to ‘Ndokwa health project’ and requires hospital setting

    2. Who seeks to work on any ‘Ndokwa health project’ under the aegis of Global Medical Research & Development Organization

  5. Support base 4: We obtained ethical approval from the Eku Baptist/General hospital so that we could refer our clients there for services at no consultation fee

  6. Support base 5: Friends Laboratory at Obiaruku is also helping to provide some screening tests on our behalf, especially blood sugar and cholesterol.

  7. Key personnel: we have a conservative estimate of about 22 volunteers working with us. This includes four in the US, one in the UK and others in Nigeria
